Bushy Lodge is an old country farmhouse surrounded by fields and woods, about a mile outside the village of Firle – a small village, nestled at the foot of the range of hills known as the “South Downs”.
The village of Firle is a very traditional English village – with its big country house (Firle Place, home of the Gage family), its church, its pub (the Ram Inn – very popular with visitors), its cricket pitch, and its village hall (used for entertainment and meetings).

We look forward to welcoming you here.

Firle is 4 miles from Lewes, the county town of East Sussex, and half way between Brighton and Eastbourne (See map on Location page). Lewes is a small but beautiful town, steeped in history, but with modern facilities and very individual shops and cafes. Brighton, (just 15 minutes away by train) is a vibrant, friendly and cosmopolitan city (population: 250,000) with plenty of attractions and activities for you to enjoy.
